TEXTILE 'COLLAGES'

When I came to The Netherlands - about 1974 – I met interesting artists also working with textile, with traditional or recent techniques.  I found plenty of new material and started to use African and Indian batiks, scraps of cloth, veils, fibrous tissues, tulle, nets, halftransparent material, matching or contrasting yarns, threads and silks. Countless possibilities of unusual combinations!

Instead of pencil or watercolour I used colourful textile for my ‘paintings‘.
